In my hometown of Brooklyn NY, the " local specialized agent " and my mom rode on their bicycles and they looked at the 6 properties which were available within a ten block radius under $35,000. Now that's a localized specialist! Here's the thing. Zillow, Trulia and Realtor.Com plus the other 128 websites receiving automatic feeds from these main sites are bringing many agents to communities they may not have a working knowledge of. Born in Brooklyn, my parents moved me and my sister to the Merrick, Bellmore area where I lived and went to school and most of my childhood friends are still there. In 1984 I moved back to Manhattan and Brooklyn for College, Work and Living. Later, My Father bought a home in Wantagh and my Mom Moved to Huntington Village where they both reside to this day.
