I recently moved to Manhattan and decided to engage the assistance of a few brokers to help me find an apartment. I worked with Derek Chan and he was by far the most helpful. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable about the Manhattan real estate market, but he was also very courteous and at no point did I feel any pressure to jump on an apartment we visited (unlike the other brokers I worked with). He started out by calling me a few days before our scheduled meeting to get an idea of what kind of place I was looking for, location, price, amenities, etc. On the day of our meeting, he first walked me through the route we would be taking and off we went to visit about 7-8 apartments. He was very thorough during each of the visits, making sure to understand what I liked and disliked about each place and made sure to take meticulous notes on everything. After our meeting, he sent me a follow up email with all of his notes, which as I mentioned, listed all the features of each individual apartment in a well organized manner and what I had graded each of them on a scale of 1-10. It made the whole process a lot easier to deal with. I would highly recommend Derek Chan if you are in the market for an apartment in this area. He is very professional and made a normally difficult task a very pleasant and enjoyable experience.
